I've no idea what's the use of having an URL Bar Autosizer, but it keeps getting requested so here you go.
You can choose between different modes how Autosizer should size the URL Bar; all can easily be customized via the integrated Assistant.
Note: The live demo only works for the searchbar, but once installed, the URL Bar behaves accordingly.

All values like minimum and maximum width can be customized by simply grabbing the URL Bar's edges and sizing it to the desired width. Don't worry, the Assistant will guide you through all steps and will offer special modes simply by making it look how you would like it to be.
Don't like the default theme? Don't worry, Autosizer will work on any theme (if it doesn't, see FAQ) and I don't know about any conflict with other extensions, so installing is pretty save. If you don't like it, simply uninstalling it will return to default sizing.
If you're a little more advanced you can switch to an ordinary option dialog that features little graphics illustrating what this setting does.
